PLA

Easy to print with good detail. Suits indoor decoration and prototypes. It warps with heat, for example inside a car in the sun.

PETG

Tougher and slightly flexible. It handles damp and knocks better. A good choice for everyday parts.

ASA

Made for outdoors: it resists sun and weather far better. It is more demanding to print.

Quick rule

Indoor and decorative: PLA. Everyday use or damp: PETG. Sun and outdoors: ASA.
